This presents our proposed clinical algorithm for imaging diagnostics of cervical spine injuries. Following a thorough clinical examination, the decision for c-spine imaging is determined by the Canadian c-spine rule and/or NEXUS criteria. CT imaging is established as the gold standard modality for detecting c-spine injuries. An additional MRI should be considered if the patient exhibits neurological deficits or severe degenerative spine disease. Based on our findings, this is also the case if a c-spine injury is already identified on the CT scan
